Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain is assessed for the cause and treated accordingly. We can use the usual physiotherapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, interferential, acupuncture and tens for pain and muscle relaxation. Biofeedback can be used to teach how to contract, stretch and relax the pelvic floor muscles. Stretching & homework are an integral part of the treatment. We look at the local joints and muscles and use exercise, stretching and specific massage techniques if appropriate. Many times men have the same constant contraction, increased tone or "muscle guarding" seen in patients following motor vehicle accidents with bad back or other muscle problems.
